THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING COLOR DAYS SUCH A SUCCESS!!

WE HAVE A NEED for paper towels…anyone able to bring in a roll, would be greatly appreciated!!  Thanks!

METRO MAN WAS HERE!!  This past Friday, we were visited by Metro Man!  This is a free program provided to the schools by Metro North Railroad to educate our children about third rail safety.  Metro Man, a remote controlled robot (resembling R2D2) arrives, accompanied by Mr. Joe, who shows the children a video about railroad safety.  After the video, Metro Man “wakes up” and interacts with the children, asking them key questions relating to the video.  Everyone had a great time and learned a lot about railroad safety!

WE HAVE A MUSICIAN!!  Perhaps you have heard your children talking about “Miss  Kim.”  Please allow me to formally introduce Kim Papa!  She lives in Brewster, and has been singing songs and playing the guitar with us since January.  She has been singing with preschool children since 1986, when she was employed at Ridge Country School in Rye Brook.  She is still there, and hopes your children come home singing!!  You can meet Kim on Wednesday mornings and afternoons…come on in and have some fun!

OUR ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE was a huge success!  We paraded around our school, and since we had such a beautiful day, we extended our celebration down Main St.!  We were quite a sight and sound with our hats and “hand made” instruments!  Thanks for all who helped march with us!!

The Teddy Bears are working on learning sight words.  We have already introduced the following words:  a, it, and, of, the.  We also continue working on our phone #’s, addresses and birthdays!  Thanks to you all for helping to reinforce these important concepts.

The Critters will be exploring the new spring season, while incorporating nursery rhymes/fairy tales, and finishing up their senses unit.

SPRING IS OFFICIALLY HERE and everyone is eagerly anticipating the nice, warm  weather!  The children are getting a bit rambunctious and restless --- helping parents beware!!  Please remember that the teachers greatly appreciate having a second pair of eyes and ears.  If you see trouble coming, please try to intervene BEFORE it actually occurs.  Don’t hesitate to sit a child down or tell the teacher if they get “out of hand.”  We really cannot watch all the children alone, although we do try!!

REMINDER – Please remember that when it is your helping day to arrive by 9:10 AM or 12:20 PM…parents count on you to be outside to help with the drop off system.
Also, please note that school begins @ 9:15 and 12:30.  Please do not drop your child before 9:10  or 12:25.  Thank you for your understanding!
